It is often we miss to add "sudo" and end in messages like "Permission denied" or "only root can do that"...
here is simple tip for that
just run
sudo !!
eg:
abhisheklal@abhisheklal-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo !!
sudo umount -a
umount: /home/abhisheklal/Music: device is busy.
(In some cases useful info about processes that use
the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))
umount: /var/run: device is busy.
